Bruno.

Tote bag

A praying mantis tote bag for the market, the cables, and whatever else comes along. Carried by Bruno, a mantis in a lime-green jacket, sound engineer from Marseille who started out hauling gear for next to nothing. From my Animal Kinhood series, a character who learned the trade by carrying things.

Good sound is invisible. If the audience notices me, something's gone wrong.

Meadows, Mediterranean scrubland, field edges and sunny peri-urban zones from southern Europe to northern Africa and western Asia; successfully introduced to North America since 1899.

The Day He Chose His Trade

His first live mix was at Le Molotov, a two-hundred-capacity venue in Marseille. The band was terrible; the sound, correct. And that's when he understood it: what mattered to him wasn't the music or the stage, it was the problem. Making a space sound the way it should. He'd arrived in the city at eighteen, by train, and started out carrying gear and coiling cables for minimum wage. For the first few months he ate bread and cheese on a bench because he couldn't afford anything more.

A Bag for Carrying Things

A canvas bag suits him for exactly that reason: it's the object of someone who carries things from place to place without making a fuss, the same way he once coiled cables for next to nothing. A fact about the species, outside the image: the mantis has extremely fine antennae with which it senses the faintest air currents. Bruno picks up on what's moving around him the same way. On the front, his calm face; inside, whatever needs carrying. If you like how it works, I have the rest of the bags from the series.

§ 07What people ask.08 · about POD
  • Each product is made to order when you place your purchase. There is no pre-made stock or overproduction. A specialised production partner prints, cuts, and prepares it specifically for you.
  • It depends on two things: which piece it is and where it goes. Posters, the mug, the tote and the backpack ship from Europe: 4-7 business days to Europe, 2-4 to the UK, 2-6 to the USA and Canada, 6-22 to the rest of the world. T-shirts and the sweatshirt are made in the United States, so they take considerably longer to reach Europe: 9-25 business days, 7-10 to the UK, 4-10 to the USA and Canada, 5-17 to the rest of the world. Every figure already includes making the piece, since each one is produced when you order it. You will see the exact date for your shipment at checkout.
  • Contact us at mail@yagopartal.com with your order number and clear photos of the damage (include packaging). We will review your case and offer a solution as soon as possible, either replacement or refund.
  • Animal Kinhood is a series of anthropomorphic animal portraits created by Yago Partal. Each portrait features a real species dressed in clothing that reflects its personality, blending photography, illustration, and artificial intelligence.
  • Yes. You will receive an email with a tracking number when your order ships from production. If your order ships in multiple packages, you will get a separate tracking number for each one.
  • Open editions (main shop) are on-demand products with no copy limit. Limited editions (the Editions section of the shop) have controlled numbering and premium finishes with gallery-grade materials.
  • Since products are made on demand, different items may be manufactured at different facilities. Posters, mugs, and backpacks are often shipped separately. Each package has its own tracking number.
  • If you notice a print defect (misaligned colours, stains, missing ink areas), contact us with photos at mail@yagopartal.com. Production defects are resolved with a replacement at no extra cost.
