Wesley.

Mug

The Wesley ceramic mug carries the portrait of a ring-tailed lemur dressed in a camel coat, herringbone tweed vest, and light blue shirt. The print wraps the outside of the mug with photographic quality, and the inside has a colored glaze that contrasts with the white ceramic exterior. The handle picks up that interior color too, giving you a visual accent whenever the mug is empty or half full.

Boundaries are measured with a paper tape. A raised voice doesn't move maps.

Endemic to southern and south-western Madagascar; inhabits spiny forests, gallery forests, dry scrub and deciduous woodland. Its range runs from Tolagnaro in the south-east to Morondava on the west coast, with inland populations in Ambalavao and the Réserve d'Anja.

The market coffee and the pause before mediating

Wesley drinks his coffee mild. Always. Strong coffee overwhelms him the same way intense smells do — it's a threshold thing, not a preference. At the morning market in Ambalavao there's a stall that serves freshly brewed coffee before seven. Wesley buys one on his way to the mairie and carries it in his hand. He drinks it slowly, standing, in the courtyard of the municipal building, while he waits for the windows of the mediation room to have aired out enough.

That pause isn't in any protocol. Nobody writes it down. But it's what lets Wesley walk into the first meeting of the day with a clear head. Five minutes. Coffee in one hand. The other hand free. The sun starting to warm the east-facing facade. If someone talks to him, he answers. If nobody does, even better. The pause works better in silence, and Wesley knows it.

A ceramic mug is the object that best reproduces that moment. It isn't portable like a thermos or disposable like a paper cup. It's a desk object, a kitchen table object, an object for a deliberate pause. When you fill this mug with your morning coffee and hold it with both hands, you're repeating a gesture Wesley makes every day before he opens his folder and pulls out the first file.

Capacity and material

The mug holds around 325 milliliters — enough for a long coffee, a tea, or an herbal infusion. The ceramic is food-grade, dishwasher and microwave safe. The print is applied by sublimation on the glazed surface, which means it won't scratch with normal use or fade through washes.

Can I use it every day? Yes. The ceramic is thick — not a delicate cup that shatters if you knock it off the counter, though it's not indestructible either. The thickness keeps the liquid warm longer than a thin-walled mug. Can it go in the dishwasher? Yes, on the top rack. In the microwave? Yes, no metal lid.

Wesley's portrait is printed on both sides of the mug. That means the image shows whether you hold it with your right hand or your left — a detail that seems small but determines whether the portrait faces outward (visible to others) or toward you (visible only to the person drinking).

  • Each product is made to order when you place your purchase. There is no pre-made stock or overproduction. A specialised production partner prints, cuts, and prepares it specifically for you.
  • It depends on two things: which piece it is and where it goes. Posters, the mug, the tote and the backpack ship from Europe: 4-7 business days to Europe, 2-4 to the UK, 2-6 to the USA and Canada, 6-22 to the rest of the world. T-shirts and the sweatshirt are made in the United States, so they take considerably longer to reach Europe: 9-25 business days, 7-10 to the UK, 4-10 to the USA and Canada, 5-17 to the rest of the world. Every figure already includes making the piece, since each one is produced when you order it. You will see the exact date for your shipment at checkout.
  • Contact us at mail@yagopartal.com with your order number and clear photos of the damage (include packaging). We will review your case and offer a solution as soon as possible, either replacement or refund.
  • Animal Kinhood is a series of anthropomorphic animal portraits created by Yago Partal. Each portrait features a real species dressed in clothing that reflects its personality, blending photography, illustration, and artificial intelligence.
  • Yes. We accept custom commissions of all kinds: pet portraits, corporate projects, and artistic collaborations. Visit the Custom Projects section in the footer for details and contact.
  • Yes. The mug is dishwasher and microwave safe. It is lead-free and BPA-free ceramic. To keep the print looking perfect as long as possible, avoid washing with highly abrasive products.
  • If you notice a print defect (misaligned colours, stains, missing ink areas), contact us with photos at mail@yagopartal.com. Production defects are resolved with a replacement at no extra cost.
  • On-demand production eliminates surplus stock and overproduction. Each product is manufactured only when someone orders it, drastically reducing material waste and the footprint of unsold inventory.
