Matte poster

This matte white shark poster is a print ready to frame: a shark facing forward, pink cap and yellow graffiti jacket over gray skin, holding your gaze from a plain background. It's Lowanna, a lifeguard from Port Lincoln, from my Animal Kinhood series.

Carcharodon carcharias

First you watch the sea. Then you watch the people. You decide who to protect from whom.

Temperate and subtropical waters worldwide, with concentrations off southern Australia (the Neptune Islands), South Africa, central California and New Zealand; it favors continental shelves and coastal zones between 5 °C and 25 °C, but it dives below 1,000 meters and makes transoceanic crossings in open water.

Forty seconds that don't show up in the portrait

I created her face-on, mouth open in that smile that shows the whole row of teeth: on the print, only the calm face is there, on a plain background. The scene that left her with that calm didn't fit inside it. On a field day at the Neptune Islands, seventy kilometers from Port Lincoln, an adult white shark, four meters long, passed six meters from her. Neither of them moved. He looked at her and carried on his way. She came out of the water calm, without saying a word, and that night she sat on the floor of her studio and smiled to herself for ten minutes.

A series of portraits with a life behind them

With Animal Kinhood I've spent years creating dressed animals, with the jobs of people who get up early and work hard. Lowanna is a lifeguard and safety trainer on the beaches of southern Australia: she pulls people out of the water and teaches them to respect the sea. This print lifts her out of her story and puts her on your wall. As an art print by Yago Partal, the matte finish doesn't glare and works anywhere: over a desk or in a hallway you pass through. If you like how it looks, there are more creatures in the rest of the collection.

§ 07What people ask.08 · about POD
  • Each product is made to order when you place your purchase. There is no pre-made stock or overproduction. A specialised production partner prints, cuts, and prepares it specifically for you.
  • It depends on two things: which piece it is and where it goes. Posters, the mug, the tote and the backpack ship from Europe: 4-7 business days to Europe, 2-4 to the UK, 2-6 to the USA and Canada, 6-22 to the rest of the world. T-shirts and the sweatshirt are made in the United States, so they take considerably longer to reach Europe: 9-25 business days, 7-10 to the UK, 4-10 to the USA and Canada, 5-17 to the rest of the world. Every figure already includes making the piece, since each one is produced when you order it. You will see the exact date for your shipment at checkout.
  • Contact us at mail@yagopartal.com with your order number and clear photos of the damage (include packaging). We will review your case and offer a solution as soon as possible, either replacement or refund.
  • The posters use 189 g/m2 matte paper sourced from Japan, 0.26 mm thick. They are printed with water-based multicolour inkjet, ensuring accurate colours and a smooth, glare-free finish.
  • On-demand production eliminates surplus stock and overproduction. Each product is manufactured only when someone orders it, drastically reducing material waste and the footprint of unsold inventory.
  • Each portrait combines photography, digital illustration, and AI-generated fragments under Yago's artistic direction: AI supplies intermediate material — references, poses, textures — never the final output. The process includes species research, character design, and detailed manual construction — photomontage, light, color, and illustration — built layer by layer in Photoshop.
  • Animal Kinhood is a series of anthropomorphic animal portraits created by Yago Partal. Each portrait features a real species dressed in clothing that reflects its personality, blending photography, illustration, and artificial intelligence.
  • No. No animals participate in or are harmed during the process. The portraits are created combining photography, illustration, and artificial intelligence. They are fictional characters representing real species with respect and dignity.
