The One Who Keeps Things Safe
Fernando looks after his own by keeping things safe: he repairs tools for older neighbors without charging them, and if anyone thanks him in public, he changes the subject. On the back shelf of the workshop, behind a can of oil, he keeps a horseshoe he forged for someone and never gave away. He keeps what matters where no one can see it. A hoodie — the garment of someone who bundles up and keeps going — suits him exactly for that: he's one of those who look after people up close, without asking anything in return.
