This youth iberian bull t-shirt carries Fernando, a quiet bull who says more with his actions than his words, from my Animal Kinhood series. The one from the Extremaduran dehesa who talks little and makes things that last.

Five hundred years of dehesa fit inside me. Things well made last longer than the people who made them.
Dehesas of the Iberian Peninsula: expanses of holm oak and cork oak with natural pasture in Extremadura, Salamanca, Andalusia and the Portuguese Alentejo. Density of 0.2 to 0.5 head per hectare.
Once, Fernando forged a horseshoe shaped like a half moon for someone he loved. It cost him a week of sleepless nights, and he never gave it to her: he kept it, and it's still there. The affection he knew how to put into the iron never found a way to say itself out loud. It's not t-shirt sadness; it's something you understand well once you start noticing that sometimes what you feel comes out in what you do before it ever comes out in what you say.
What the t-shirt puts on your chest is the face: a calm bull, looking straight ahead, in his usual clothes. I created him clean with no background: it reads at a glance and holds up to washing like any garment that gets a lot of use. It works well for class or for going out, nothing flashy. For someone who's starting to figure out who they are, a bull who doesn't copy anyone and does things his own way is good company. His whole story is in Fernando's life.
