Isabella.

Matte poster

This barn owl poster is a print ready to frame: a barn owl seen from the front, with the white heart-shaped facial disc and a high-collared beige anorak, gazing at you calmly against a flat background. This is Isabella, a character from my Animal Kinhood series.

The real species

Barn Owl.

Tyto alba

I can hear it, but I can't name it yet.

Open country with low vegetation for hunting —grassland, marshes, woodland edges, farmland, and the fringes of towns—, from sea level to over 2,000 m; it nests in tree hollows, rock ledges and, very characteristically, in barns, church towers, and lofts

At three thousand two hundred hertz

In her story, Isabella masters sound at night at Nachtwerk, her Ghent studio, from six in the evening to six in the morning. She closes her eyes in front of the monitors, listens to a whole take, listens to it again, and only then speaks: "at three thousand two hundred hertz there's a peak." The client doesn't hear it; she does. This poster takes her still face from that life and sets it down front-on, to be read in a single glance on any wall. The barn owl, in fact, hunts in total darkness guided only by its hearing: the disc of feathers around its face gathers sound like an antenna.

The carillon hours

Isabella lives at night: her day begins when everyone else's ends, and she measures the hours not by a clock but by the carillon of the Belfry. Her home is an attic with high ceilings, near Sint-Baaf square, with the rent going up and her daytime sleep at stake. Hung above a desk or in a hallway, this portrait works just as well, with no glare to get in the way, and brings that stillness of hers home: the stillness of someone who, before giving an opinion, says "wait" and tunes in for a second. There's more about her in her biography.

  • Each product is made to order when you place your purchase. There is no pre-made stock or overproduction. A specialised production partner prints, cuts, and prepares it specifically for you.
  • Production normally takes 2-5 business days. Shipping adds 3 to 20 days depending on destination. Most orders arrive within 1-3 weeks total. Exact times depend on the production facility and your location.
  • Contact us at mail@yagopartal.com with your order number and clear photos of the damage (include packaging). We will review your case and offer a solution as soon as possible, either replacement or refund.
  • Yes. At checkout you can enter a different shipping address from billing. The package arrives white-label with no visible price, so the recipient will not see the cost.
  • Yes. You will receive an email with a tracking number when your order ships from production. If your order ships in multiple packages, you will get a separate tracking number for each one.
  • Since products are made on demand, different items may be manufactured at different facilities. Posters, mugs, and backpacks are often shipped separately. Each package has its own tracking number.
  • AI generates intermediate fragments of the creative process — references, poses and, for wild species, part of the animal's visual base — never the final piece. Yago directs each portrait: researching the species, designing the character, and building the result by hand in Photoshop, layer by layer. The artistic decision is always human.
  • Animal Kinhood is a series of anthropomorphic animal portraits created by Yago Partal. Each portrait features a real species dressed in clothing that reflects its personality, blending photography, illustration, and artificial intelligence.
