Isabella.

Unisex sweatshirt

In this barn owl sweatshirt you get Isabella, a common barn owl from my Animal Kinhood series: you see her from the front, in her high-collared beige jacket and her mint hood. In her story she's a sound engineer and spent whole nights recording out in the open, back when the hood was her way of shutting out the world to listen.

The real species

Barn Owl.

Tyto alba

I can hear it, but I can't name it yet.

Open country with low vegetation for hunting —grassland, marshes, woodland edges, farmland, and the fringes of towns—, from sea level to over 2,000 m; it nests in tree hollows, rock ledges and, very characteristically, in barns, church towers, and lofts

The Waasland nights

There was half a year when Isabella had no studio and recorded out in the open. Every night she'd bike out to the Waasland polders, plant her microphones among the reeds and wait for hours: water, insects, the odd distant train, wind, and barn owls hunting, which she'd hear long before she saw them. In the damp cold of the long nights, pulling up the hood of her sweatshirt was what let her stay still and keep listening. That kind of warmth, for the dead hours in the dark, is exactly what this garment is for.

From the open air to Nachtwerk

Those recordings brought her first commission, and the commission brought the money to set up Nachtwerk, her own studio beside a canal in Ghent. But the habit of the nights stuck: she still works in the dark, with the room kept cold and something soft on top. At her neck hangs the ginkgo her mother gave her at fifteen, matte and quiet, one of those things that last the years without drawing attention. A sweatshirt like this, comfortable and unshowy, is very much her way of being in the world: warm on the inside, discreet on the outside.

§ 07What people ask.08 · about POD
  • Each product is made to order when you place your purchase. There is no pre-made stock or overproduction. A specialised production partner prints, cuts, and prepares it specifically for you.
  • It depends on two things: which piece it is and where it goes. Posters, the mug, the tote and the backpack ship from Europe: 4-7 business days to Europe, 2-4 to the UK, 2-6 to the USA and Canada, 6-22 to the rest of the world. T-shirts and the sweatshirt are made in the United States, so they take considerably longer to reach Europe: 9-25 business days, 7-10 to the UK, 4-10 to the USA and Canada, 5-17 to the rest of the world. Every figure already includes making the piece, since each one is produced when you order it. You will see the exact date for your shipment at checkout.
  • Contact us at mail@yagopartal.com with your order number and clear photos of the damage (include packaging). We will review your case and offer a solution as soon as possible, either replacement or refund.
  • Animal Kinhood is a series of anthropomorphic animal portraits created by Yago Partal. Each portrait features a real species dressed in clothing that reflects its personality, blending photography, illustration, and artificial intelligence.
  • AI generates intermediate fragments of the creative process — references, poses and, for wild species, part of the animal's visual base — never the final piece. Yago directs each portrait: researching the species, designing the character, and building the result by hand in Photoshop, layer by layer. The artistic decision is always human.
  • The hoodie has dropped shoulders that give it a relaxed, modern look, but it is not extremely oversized. If you prefer a looser fit, size up one from your usual size.
  • Yes. At checkout you can enter a different shipping address from billing. The package arrives white-label with no visible price, so the recipient will not see the cost.
  • Yes. You have 14 calendar days to withdraw, with no need to give a reason (TRLGDCU arts. 102-108). Return the product unused and in its original condition; return shipping is at your expense and any loss of value from handling beyond inspection is deducted (art. 108.2). Your statutory guarantee of conformity also remains fully in force: any product arriving damaged or with a defect is replaced or refunded at no cost. Contact us at mail@yagopartal.com.
