The stretch when nobody asks for anything
The mug is white ceramic, with the inside and the handle in golden yellow, the same tone as Olwen's sweater. With tea in it, that yellow peeking over the rim looks more like an egg yolk than a glaze. It's 11 oz, about 325 ml, just right for a long brew without checking the clock.
Olwen is a tea drinker. At Christmas her sister sends her the good stuff from the city, and she sends wool back. A quiet exchange, between two who understand each other without filling the silences.
