Learning by watching, no notes
Nobody taught Olwen her trade in any class. An older neighbor from the valley, Emrys, taught her the old way: he let her watch, then put the tool in her hand, and stood beside her correcting with two phrases, "lower, flatter." No theory. Watch, repeat, get it wrong, try again. At sixteen she was doing whole stretches alone, and at seventeen she went ahead with Emrys behind, finding less and less to correct. That way of learning, hands before books, pulls at whoever puts on this youth hare t-shirt.
