Yara.

Framed poster

It arrives already framed, with a hanger: a black caiman facing forward, in her cream jacket with two gold hoops on her jaw, against a teal background. This is Yara's framed black caiman poster, a portrait I created for my Animal Kinhood series.

Black caiman.

Melanosuchus niger

The silence before the pulse is what matters.

The entire Amazon basin (Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Guyana, Suriname, Venezuela, French Guiana), the Orinoco basin and the Pantanal wetlands. It inhabits slow waters, lakes, várzea (seasonal floodplain), and both blackwater and whitewater.

A portrait that arrives ready

This framed black caiman print arrives already mounted, with its frame and hanger, so all you do is drive in a nail. Inside it is the same broad-jawed black caiman, cream jacket over a white sweater, with thin gold as the only warm flash of color. I created her facing forward, against a clean background: it reads at a glance from across the hallway. Hang it somewhere people walk past; the portrait doesn't ask for any company beyond the wall.

Fourteen tapes that arrived moldy

When her grandmother, Dona Mercedes, died in Tefé, the boat took thirty-six hours upriver. Yara put into her own ear the thin gold hoop her grandmother had worn her whole life, and from the house she took a cardboard box with fourteen moldy cassettes: voices of women from the river singing boi-bumbá that no one had kept. The box weighed almost nothing and carried half a lifetime of people inside it. That gold and that box explain Yara better than any sentence could; her whole story is on the character page, and behind all of it, me, Yago Partal, with a family of creatures you can see in the rest of the collection.

  • Each product is made to order when you place your purchase. There is no pre-made stock or overproduction. A specialised production partner prints, cuts, and prepares it specifically for you.
  • It depends on two things: which piece it is and where it goes. Posters, the mug, the tote and the backpack ship from Europe: 4-7 business days to Europe, 2-4 to the UK, 2-6 to the USA and Canada, 6-22 to the rest of the world. T-shirts and the sweatshirt are made in the United States, so they take considerably longer to reach Europe: 9-25 business days, 7-10 to the UK, 4-10 to the USA and Canada, 5-17 to the rest of the world. Every figure already includes making the piece, since each one is produced when you order it. You will see the exact date for your shipment at checkout.
  • Contact us at mail@yagopartal.com with your order number and clear photos of the damage (include packaging). We will review your case and offer a solution as soon as possible, either replacement or refund.
  • Animal Kinhood is a series of anthropomorphic animal portraits created by Yago Partal. Each portrait features a real species dressed in clothing that reflects its personality, blending photography, illustration, and artificial intelligence.
  • Each portrait combines photography, digital illustration, and AI-generated fragments under Yago's artistic direction: AI supplies intermediate material — references, poses, textures — never the final output. The process includes species research, character design, and detailed manual construction — photomontage, light, color, and illustration — built layer by layer in Photoshop.

Your statutory guarantee of conformity also remains fully in force: any product arriving damaged or with a defect is replaced or refunded at no cost. Contact us at mail@yagopartal.com.
  • On-demand production eliminates surplus stock and overproduction. Each product is manufactured only when someone orders it, drastically reducing material waste and the footprint of unsold inventory.
