Men's t-shirt

What's printed on this kakapo t-shirt is Kiri, midwife of an island in southern New Zealand and a character from my Animal Kinhood series, where animals dress and live like people. It's a men's t-shirt, and the portrait is of an adult female with a broad face and a calm expression, no smile.

It doesn't have to be tonight. Just say the word.

Temperate rainforest in New Zealand. Today it survives only on predator-free sanctuary islands — Whenua Hou, Pukenui/Anchor and Hauturu — plus one fenced mainland enclosure.

Zero Isn't a Figure of Speech

Kiri's people only breed in the years the rimu fruits, and the rimu fruits every two years, every three, sometimes every four. In the years between, absolutely nobody is born: the birth count is zero, literal zero, not rounded down to it. The biology underneath is well documented. In the breeding season, the male kakapo digs a bowl in the ground, inflates a thoracic sac, and produces a boom of between twenty and a hundred hertz for up to eight hours a night, audible for kilometres. In the years without fruit, nobody booms.

Fourteen in Five Weeks

The year Kiri was thirty-eight, the rimu fruited like it hadn't since her childhood. Fourteen babies in five weeks, on an island where whole years go by without one. She lost four kilos and slept in snatches, in chairs. She talks about those five weeks as the best stretch of her life, and she says it without emphasis, the same way she'd report the weather. If you wear this t-shirt and someone asks who it is, the short answer is that: fourteen in five weeks, and four kilos lighter.

  • Each product is made to order when you place your purchase. There is no pre-made stock or overproduction. A specialised production partner prints, cuts, and prepares it specifically for you.
  • Production normally takes 2-5 business days. Shipping adds 3 to 20 days depending on destination. Most orders arrive within 1-3 weeks total. Exact times depend on the production facility and your location.
  • Contact us at mail@yagopartal.com with your order number and clear photos of the damage (include packaging). We will review your case and offer a solution as soon as possible, either replacement or refund.
  • Check the size guide in each product tab. Measure a t-shirt that fits you well and compare with the length and width measurements. The t-shirts have a regular fit, neither slim nor oversized.

  • Yes. At checkout you can enter a different shipping address from billing. The package arrives white-label with no visible price, so the recipient will not see the cost.
  • Each portrait combines photography, digital illustration, and AI-generated fragments under Yago's artistic direction: AI supplies intermediate material — references, poses, textures — never the final output. The process includes species research, character design, and detailed manual construction — photomontage, light, color, and illustration — built layer by layer in Photoshop.
  • Animal Kinhood is a series of anthropomorphic animal portraits created by Yago Partal. Each portrait features a real species dressed in clothing that reflects its personality, blending photography, illustration, and artificial intelligence.
