Organic cotton that breathes
The 180 g/m² organic cotton is the weight that handles weekly washing without going stiff or going limp. Light enough for a long summer, and with enough body that the print on the portrait doesn't show through from behind. The weave is a plain knit, no ribbing or effects: the image is the focus. After three or four washes it gains a softness it didn't have on day one. That's how cotton behaves when it's well made.
The choice of material matters. Yago Partal prints Animal Kinhood on certified organic cotton because the direct textile printing process works better on natural fiber, the portrait comes out sharper, and the t-shirt lasts longer in the wardrobe. On synthetic blends the ink can clump; on cotton it breathes with the garment. There's a continuous logic between what the piece is and what it does over years of use.
