John.

Matte poster

This bald eagle poster brings together all the look of a symbol-eagle — white head, biker's leather, a fixed stare — and, underneath it, the quiet man who wears it. This is John, from Duluth, and he's part of Animal Kinhood, my series of portraits.

The real species

Bald eagle.

Haliaeetus leucocephalus

I don't shout, I tune. I give half the city a voice and keep my own on the workbench, in a guitar I've spent years not finishing. Someday I'll play it for Carol.

Coasts, estuaries, large lakes, rivers and reservoirs across North America, from Alaska and Canada down to northern Mexico, always near open water rich in fish and with tall trees to nest in

The face that shows up on the coins

It's the face everyone thinks they know: the eagle on the coins, the one on the symbol. Head and neck of white feathers, a hooked beak of intense yellow, yellow eyes that never look away. Over it, black biker's leather and a silver chain at the neck, against a gray-green background that doesn't distract from what matters. On a wall, it commands the room before you even get close. It has all the thunderous look of a people everyone assumes are forever fierce and grand.

Behind the look, the workshop

Behind that cover there's a quiet man who spends his days fixing things. Onto his bench comes a guitar given up for dead, warped, with a worn-down fret, and a week later it leaves sounding again. He doesn't shout: he tunes. Half of Duluth's music scene plays instruments that came out of his workshop, on the shore of Lake Superior, where the cold slips under the door for a good part of the year. The look says one thing; the man, another. That contrast is what hangs on the wall. He's part of Animal Kinhood, my series of portraits, which I sign as Yago Partal.

§ 07What people ask.08 · about POD
  • Each product is made to order when you place your purchase. There is no pre-made stock or overproduction. A specialised production partner prints, cuts, and prepares it specifically for you.
  • It depends on two things: which piece it is and where it goes. Posters, the mug, the tote and the backpack ship from Europe: 4-7 business days to Europe, 2-4 to the UK, 2-6 to the USA and Canada, 6-22 to the rest of the world. T-shirts and the sweatshirt are made in the United States, so they take considerably longer to reach Europe: 9-25 business days, 7-10 to the UK, 4-10 to the USA and Canada, 5-17 to the rest of the world. Every figure already includes making the piece, since each one is produced when you order it. You will see the exact date for your shipment at checkout.
  • Contact us at mail@yagopartal.com with your order number and clear photos of the damage (include packaging). We will review your case and offer a solution as soon as possible, either replacement or refund.
  • No. No animals participate in or are harmed during the process. The portraits are created combining photography, illustration, and artificial intelligence. They are fictional characters representing real species with respect and dignity.
  • Open editions (main shop) are on-demand products with no copy limit. Limited editions (the Editions section of the shop) have controlled numbering and premium finishes with gallery-grade materials.
  • Yes. You will receive an email with a tracking number when your order ships from production. If your order ships in multiple packages, you will get a separate tracking number for each one.
  • Yes. We accept custom commissions of all kinds: pet portraits, corporate projects, and artistic collaborations. Visit the Custom Projects section in the footer for details and contact.
  • On-demand production eliminates surplus stock and overproduction. Each product is manufactured only when someone orders it, drastically reducing material waste and the footprint of unsold inventory.
