A Tin That Never Runs Empty

Birdie keeps a dented cookie tin always full of croissants and sugar cubes, in case someone shows up hungry and cold. He hands things out from it every day, and he also passes around a thermos of sweet mate cocido, the kind that warms your hands. The tin doesn't appear in the portrait —that's part of his story— but it says a lot about this kid: about carrying provisions and giving them away. That's why a sturdy bag like this, with a red handle, suits him so well: it's exactly what he'd carry, full of things to give.

The One Who Fasts and Waits for the Sea

Here's another detail you won't find in the image: among emperor penguins, the father cares for the egg for nearly four months without eating anything, holding out through the winter, until his mate returns from the sea with food. A whole life built around waiting for whoever brings the food. In Birdie's world that sounds familiar: his father spends weeks out at sea and comes back, and maybe that's why the chick keeps his tin always full. His full story is in his biography, and there's more of him across the rest of the collection.

§ 07What people ask.08 · about POD
  • Each product is made to order when you place your purchase. There is no pre-made stock or overproduction. A specialised production partner prints, cuts, and prepares it specifically for you.
  • It depends on two things: which piece it is and where it goes. Posters, the mug, the tote and the backpack ship from Europe: 4-7 business days to Europe, 2-4 to the UK, 2-6 to the USA and Canada, 6-22 to the rest of the world. T-shirts and the sweatshirt are made in the United States, so they take considerably longer to reach Europe: 9-25 business days, 7-10 to the UK, 4-10 to the USA and Canada, 5-17 to the rest of the world. Every figure already includes making the piece, since each one is produced when you order it. You will see the exact date for your shipment at checkout.
  • Contact us at mail@yagopartal.com with your order number and clear photos of the damage (include packaging). We will review your case and offer a solution as soon as possible, either replacement or refund.
  • On-demand production eliminates surplus stock and overproduction. Each product is manufactured only when someone orders it, drastically reducing material waste and the footprint of unsold inventory.
  • Animal Kinhood is a series of anthropomorphic animal portraits created by Yago Partal. Each portrait features a real species dressed in clothing that reflects its personality, blending photography, illustration, and artificial intelligence.
  • Open editions (main shop) are on-demand products with no copy limit. Limited editions (the Editions section of the shop) have controlled numbering and premium finishes with gallery-grade materials.
  • Yes. At checkout you can enter a different shipping address from billing. The package arrives white-label with no visible price, so the recipient will not see the cost.
  • Yago Partal is a visual artist and photographer from Barcelona known for Zoo Portraits (2013), a project that brought his work to international media. Animal Kinhood is the evolution of that artistic exploration.
