Hung Up, the Gaze Takes Over

Framed, this portrait works as a proper piece: the frame picks up the blue-grey of the background and lets the eyes do all the work. I created it still and facing forward, the black-and-white mask centred, the big dark eyes staring at you without blinking, and the red of the coat framing them like a frame within the frame. Hung at eye level, it commands an entire wall: it doesn't matter if it's a hallway, a studio or a child's room, that small face stays with you. It arrives ready to hang, nothing more than a nail needed.

Eyes That Wait, Ears That Recognize

In his story, those big eyes are almost always looking off into the distance: Birdie is a child who spends his days waiting for someone to appear in the distance, and that quiet waiting is what stares back at you once it's on the wall. And a detail you can't see in the print: emperor penguins live in colonies of thousands and find each other by voice, each call as unique as a fingerprint. That's why this chick, his people say, never forgets a voice. If this face has won you over, his whole life is in his biography; and if you'd rather have it unframed, the same portrait is available as a print.

§ 07 What people ask. 08 · about POD
  • Each product is made to order when you place your purchase. There is no pre-made stock or overproduction. A specialised production partner prints, cuts, and prepares it specifically for you.
  • It depends on two things: which piece it is and where it goes. Posters, the mug, the tote and the backpack ship from Europe: 4-7 business days to Europe, 2-4 to the UK, 2-6 to the USA and Canada, 6-22 to the rest of the world. T-shirts and the sweatshirt are made in the United States, so they take considerably longer to reach Europe: 9-25 business days, 7-10 to the UK, 4-10 to the USA and Canada, 5-17 to the rest of the world. Every figure already includes making the piece, since each one is produced when you order it. You will see the exact date for your shipment at checkout.
  • Contact us at mail@yagopartal.com with your order number and clear photos of the damage (include packaging). We will review your case and offer a solution as soon as possible, either replacement or refund.
  • It includes an ayous wood frame (1.9 cm thick, from renewable forests), an Acrylite acrylic protective front, and hanging hardware. It is lightweight and arrives ready to hang directly on the wall.
  • If you notice a print defect (misaligned colours, stains, missing ink areas), contact us with photos at mail@yagopartal.com. Production defects are resolved with a replacement at no extra cost.
  • AI generates intermediate fragments of the creative process — references, poses and, for wild species, part of the animal's visual base — never the final piece. Yago directs each portrait: researching the species, designing the character, and building the result by hand in Photoshop, layer by layer. The artistic decision is always human.
  • The posters use 189 g/m2 matte paper sourced from Japan, 0.26 mm thick. They are printed with water-based multicolour inkjet, ensuring accurate colours and a smooth, glare-free finish.
  • Each portrait combines photography, digital illustration, and AI-generated fragments under Yago's artistic direction: AI supplies intermediate material — references, poses, textures — never the final output. The process includes species research, character design, and detailed manual construction — photomontage, light, color, and illustration — built layer by layer in Photoshop.
