§ How to play
Six guesses, one species
- 01You guess the SPECIES, not the character. The Kin behind it is the reward for getting it right, not the question.
- 02The first four guesses are typed, with autocomplete over hundreds of species. The last two are picked from four, so nobody gets stuck with nothing.
- 03Every miss uncovers a bit more of the image and hands you a real fact about the species, with its source. And getting the group right — "bat" when it was a long-eared bat — counts as half a hit and brings a hint forward.
§ The week
A different test every day
The week is fixed: the same day always brings the same kind of test, so you can come back for the one you like best.
| Day | What you see |
|---|---|
| Monday | The whole portrait, veiled. Never a crop: the work is shown complete. |
| Tuesday | The map, zooming in on the real coordinates where it lives. |
| Wednesday | The silhouette. |
| Thursday | Three facts and guess. The hard day. |
| Friday | Four portraits: one does not belong. |
| Saturday | The young one, in a real photo. Guess the adult. |
| Sunday | The migration route, animated. |
§ Questions
What people usually ask
Do I guess the character or the species?
The species. The Animal Kinhood character appears when you get it right, as the reveal.
Do I need an account?
No. Your streak and stats are kept in your own browser and never leave it.
Can I play previous days?
Not yet. There is no archive of past puzzles, and that is deliberate: with the current cast, leaving them open would burn through the species in a few weeks.
When does it change?
At midnight, Madrid time. The same for everyone: today’s puzzle is the same in every country, so it can be discussed without spoiling it.
Where do the facts in the hints come from?
From the project’s encyclopedia, where every figure carries its source. If there is no traceable source for something, it is not used as a hint.
