Hrafn delivers the mail around a fjord in eastern Iceland and drives the mountain pass whenever it's open — sometimes it stays shut for three weeks. He knows every mailbox and every face on the route, checks the tyres twice before setting off, and keeps whatever he finds on the road in a shed. If it doesn't open today, he goes up tomorrow: it's not optimism, it's arithmetic.
